(The men were on board a troopship, the SS Mohammed Ali-El-Kebir, which left Avonmouth on 5th August 1940. The ship was torpedoed 250 miles west of Malin Head, Co. Donegal, at 20.30pm on 7 August 1940)

Thank you for this entry. He was my grandfather and he died when my mother was less than 2 years old so never knew her father or has ever seen a photo of him. If anyone has a photo it would be appreciated. He was born and lived in Liverpool and has many family members still living there.
